Here you will find a list of Associations and Organizations that Ripley Patton is an active member of, supports, and highly recommends to anyone who bothers asking.
NIWA is an amazing, cooperative collective of self-published, independent, and traditionally published authors from the Pacific Northwest. They have programs of regular promotion for their members, including their Author Speed Date events with local libraries and their Bards & Brews readings, as well as a regular book table at events and a quality relationship with local independent book sellers.
I have found my membership with them to be an invaluable resource for local face-to-face promotion and networking with other local authors.
I am a proud member of Oregon Writers Colony and use their Colonyhouse on Rockaway beach for writing getaways.
I a member of BroadUniverse which promotes science fiction, fantasy and horror written by women. I especially enjoy participating in their Rapid Fire Readings at local Cons.
Critters Writers Workshop (affectionately called Critters) is a free, online spec fic critique workshop for short stories and novels that I have found invaluable in my growth and success as a writer.
I am a regular attendee and supporter of my local Sci-fi/Fantasy Cons, including OryCon and Norwescon.
